Bridgend Youth Council is open to all young people aged 11-25 living or attending school in the Bridgend area. It is run by the Children’s Rights and Participation Team which consists of Lois Sutton and Teresa Cox.

We currently have young people from all over Bridgend who attend from the ages of 12-19 and from all different schools, colleges or home schooled. We hold one face to face meeting on the third Wednesday of every month in the council chambers (where the main council holds their meetings) at the Civic Offices in Bridgend or In Evergreen Hall next to Civic, and one online Chat and Chill meeting on the first Wednesday of each month via zoom.

1st Week – Chat and Chill Drop In Session

3rd Week – face to face Youth Council Meeting

We try to plan a guest speaker or an activity for some of our meetings - some young people get involved and ask questions or deliver workshops others just log on and observe the meeting, there's no pressure at all.

We are also very active on social media, please feel free to check out our-

We have a dedicated Youth Council What’s App Group where we share information on upcoming events and the links to our zoom meetings – this is the easiest way to share the links to our meetings and any other information, but we can send the links and information via email instead if requested. NOTE: few of our younger members have their parents’ numbers on that what’s app group instead/as well.
